Sovereignty was never ceded. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal Land.
TOTAL PROCESS
TOTAL PROCESS is a durational work by Australian artists Bronte Naylor, Grace Dewar and Laurie Oxenford that explores collaborative spatial practices as both art and non-art. Over the two-weeks of the festival, TOTAL PROCESS will evolve as a quasi-structure, research studio and meeting place to interrogate site and circumstance.
The project is a site-specific work in response to Lake Cootharaba and the surrounding urban and natural environments. The site intervention invites the interdisciplinary practices of the three artists through installation, painting, lighting, sound, photography and video, as well as research, critical dialogue and observation. TOTAL PROCESS borrows methodologies from other urban practices such as construction, architecture, safety and public art to engage with existing modalities in new ways.
Prioritising resourcefulness and chance, the artwork will use found materials to challenge assumed hierarchies of materials and traditional expectations of construction (how things ‘should’ be built). In this way, TOTAL PROCESS questions how far something can be pushed before it becomes something else. These approaches encourage continuous experimentation; presenting a tipping point into process-art and anti-disciplinary practices.
TOTAL PROCESS also comprises a of web-based component that seeks to understand the layered experience of the site in a digital format. It will host the documentation of the real-time experiments and offer traditionally unseen labour exchange between the artists.
RISK ASSESMENT
The risk assesment in itself become a tone, context and structure
I personally love that the risk assesment says catastrophic
I p
3D model may have hints of the ‘ground’ but will be quite abstract.
